Never Bet Against Her at the Table: Jun Hao & Shermeen’s Singapore Pre-Wedding Story

Some pre-wedding moments you plan for. Others just happen while the camera is rolling, and those are usually the ones couples end up loving most.

Jun Hao & Shermeen’s shoot had both. On paper, it was a story told in chapters: a pool hall date, followed by a full gown look. What happened at that pool table is the part everyone keeps asking us about. If you watched the Reel, you probably thought Jun Hao was going to win too.

He didn’t. Because the real cue player in this relationship is Shermeen.

Chapter One: Right On Cue

Couple in white outfits holding pool cues under glowing lights in a pool hall, Singapore pre-wedding shoot

A pool hall is the kind of place these two have spent plenty of hours in together, so it was an easy choice for their first chapter. We let the room set the scene: glowing overhead lights, sharp lines, long shadows across the felt.

The styling kept it easy and real. A crisp white shirt and light denim for him. A white top, a tiered ruffle skirt, sneakers and playful braids with little floral clips for her. Cute, soft, a little girly. Nobody looking at her would guess she plays snooker. That was half the fun.

Chapter Two: Cue the Romance

Shermeen asked to jump into the shot with Jun Hao instead of just posing beside the table. Then, while we were filming, she quietly beat him at his own game.

There is a frame in this chapter of Jun Hao leaning over to guide her shot, as if she needed the help. Knowing that she is the snooker player of the two, it might be our favourite photo of the day. The laughter in the others isn’t posed either. That is the genuine reaction of a man getting beaten in front of the camera, and a woman trying very hard not to look too pleased about it.

Chapter Three: You’re My Perfect Match

Every story needs a title page, and this one came straight off the table. One pool ball each, held up to their cheeks, both of them trying (and failing) to keep a straight face. Around it, quieter moments: the two of them leaning on the rail, chin on hands, completely at ease in a room that feels like theirs.

A perfect match, even if one of them is clearly the better player.

Chapter Four: From Pool Cue to Full Gown

Then the mood shifted completely. Back at our studio, Shermeen changed into a strapless, ruffled tulle ball gown and veil, with Jun Hao in a dark suit. Her gown and makeup were done by Z Wedding, our sister bridal brand under the same roof at 79 Tanjong Pagar Road.

Soft window light, hanging blooms, and at the centre of it all, a glass jar filled with folded notes and tied with a red ribbon. We’ll let them keep the story of what’s inside, but you can tell from the way she holds it that it matters.

Their story also took them to Jewel for one more gown look, the setting so many couples book us for. That part lives in the Reel below.

This is the thinking behind our Storyboarding Shoot Concept. Instead of one location, one outfit and one feeling, we plan your Singapore pre-wedding photography session scene by scene, like chapters in a story. One chapter shows who you are on an ordinary night out. Another shows who you are on the way to your wedding day. Put together, the album feels like your relationship rather than a catalogue of poses.

For Jun Hao & Shermeen, the pool hall told us who they are together: playful, a little competitive, always ready to laugh at each other, with Shermeen holding a skill most people would never guess. The gown chapter gave them the classic, elegant ending. Without the first, the second would simply be a pretty gown in a pretty place.

We have built chapters around hobbies before too. Victor & Raine’s shoot took us into their favourite rock climbing gym. If there is something the two of you always do together, or something one of you is secretly great at, that is usually where the best chapter is hiding.

Thinking About Your Own Story?

If you have a hobby, a favourite hangout or a hidden talent you would love to see in your pre-wedding photos, tell us about it. The easiest way to start is to WhatsApp us, or drop by 79 Tanjong Pagar Road to see the gowns and sample albums in person. We will take it from there, one chapter at a time.

requently Asked Questions

Can we build our pre-wedding shoot around a hobby?
Yes. Through our Storyboarding Shoot Concept, we plan your shoot around the things you actually do together, whether that is pool, rock climbing, cooking or your usual weekend spot. A hobby chapter often gives the most natural, relaxed photos of the whole session.

Can a pre-wedding shoot show the playful, competitive side of our relationship?
Absolutely, and those are often the best photos. In Jun Hao & Shermeen’s shoot, most people expected him to win at pool, but Shermeen, who plays snooker, beat him while we were filming. Real reactions like that are what make an album feel like you.

Can we have a casual look and a wedding gown in the same pre-wedding shoot?
Yes. Many couples combine a casual or hobby-themed chapter with a full gown chapter in one session. Gowns, suits and makeup can be arranged with Z Wedding, our sister bridal brand at the same Tanjong Pagar address.

Do you shoot at Jewel Changi Airport?
Yes, Jewel is one of the Singapore locations we have photographed couples at. We will talk through location ideas and planning with you when you meet our team.

How much does a Singapore pre-wedding photography package cost?
Our pre-wedding packages come in different tiers depending on locations, looks and coverage. We share starting-from pricing and the exact details for your plans over WhatsApp, so drop us a message and we will walk you through the options.

Do we need to visit the studio before booking?
We highly recommend it. Visiting us at 79 Tanjong Pagar Road lets you see our sample albums, browse the gown collection and talk through your story with our team in person.
